London BusKing Competition ends today - Maltese musician needs more votes
Maltese musician, Chris Dingli, has slipped into second place, one day before the winner of the BusKing competition on the London Underground will be announced.
Dingli, who is one of the final two buskers left in the competition, had managed to hold on to the top spot for a past few days. The winner of the competition will be announced this evening at 10.00pm.
Members of the public are invited to log onto www.buskear.com today and vote for Chris Dingli. There is still a chance for him to win the competition, as the winner will be decided on the number of public votes he or she receives on the website.
The competition reaches its climax this evening when both finalists will play a live ‘busk-off’ on London’s Capital 95.8 at 9pm London time (10pm Malta time).
The BusKing competition is seen as a way of rewarding London Underground’s buskers. After starting in the 49th place, Dingli soon moved up into the top ten, and finally into the top two.
On his Facebook group page Dingli said, “It’s been great fun, but hard work… I’ve come this far...please help me go all the way! It would mean the world to me if I won this competition”.
The highly publicised London BusKing Competition seeks to find the best busker playing on the London Underground. Over a 150 licensed buskers participated.
